Add water to the stained area pour a small amount of cool water onto the red wine stain on the carpet and continue blotting.

Pour club soda or cold water onto the carpet covering an area about one and one half times the size of the stain.

Make sure that the peroxide and soda fully cover the stained area and let it sit for 2 to 3 minutes.
Repeat until no more stain is transferred onto the cloth.
Let the water stand for 30 seconds.
