Step 5 after the gum is completely removed wash the area with warm soapy water to get any oil that is left in the carpet.

You may need to apply more wd 40 to the carpet to get all of the gum out of it.
You may also apply a dry cleaning solution citrus based degreaser or mineral alcohol to chewing gum.
Put the bag of ice directly onto the gum stain.
3 mix a vinegar solution.
Close and seal it tight to avoid leaking water as the ice melts.
Otherwise i use oxy clean and it works.
Use a scraping tool to fully scrape the gum from the carpet.
Vacuum your carpet before you apply the powder.
Vacuum up the pieces thoroughly approaching the area from varying directions.
This will harden the gum so it s easier to remove gum from carpet.
